Supposes that General Benjamin Lincoln has already arrived in Philadelphia by now. Hopes Lincoln gave a good account of him. Claims his uncle will not get him a new one until receiving permission from Lucy. Says he will be obliged if Lucy can send him his "surtuit" (possibly a surtout coat) when General Lincoln returns.
