Ticknor writes to his family from Camp Dennison in Ohio. Mentions he's recovered from an illness and is ready to return to his regiment at Camp Corinth, Mississippi. Comments how pleasant the weather is and the wheat crop is ready. Informs he's had his "likeness" taken and will send it in a few days. Expresses his desire to come and see them as soon as the war is over "...if nothing hapens to me."
