He wore the helmet I had bought for him and the soldiers suit Mom and Dad bought for him but realizes so little - naturally of the meaning of these war play things - they are truly playthings for him. Thank Heaven. Well Ruth and I then had to leave. I read Alvin's letter on the way and I am glad to say Al has adjusted. He is at Camp Moody it's surrounded by P.W.'s (Prisoner of War) Germans who are, he says, marvelously behaved people, strong looking and so well disciplined but not to be admired anyway, tho he could help wondering about their orderliness, their beautiful work in the garden and told a funny story of how difficult it is for the to learn to march American style after the goos step.
