Friday nite- Aug 25, 1944 (Written Sat)

Hello darling, Arrived late at the mean hour of 12 midnight- after a pleasant evening and sure I came directly to Mom's- I couldn't get their letter couldn't write today. Then I left you yesterday finished my work+"check" out early- and arrived at your Mom's quite early. Found Mom seated at the
